AI Tool Reviews & Tests
This site champions local LLMs. When an online service is nevertheless worth your money, it goes through the same filter as our models: company verification, genuine customer reviews, and testing on our hardware when possible. The free local alternative is always listed first.

Fourteen brands were reviewed in August 2026 based on three criteria: whether the company is genuine (existence, funding, team), independent customer reviews (Trustpilot, Reddit, G2 — rating, volume, and consistency across platforms), and the absence of questionable business practices. Seven were ruled out. For transparency, here they are, along with the reason observed during our review:
| Sintra | Trustpilot review suspended by the platform (incentives against reviews) at the time of our assessment |
| Verdent | unanimously negative public reviews (2.0/5) and billing complaints at the time of our review |
| Sider | disputed gap between the “unlimited” promise and the actual limits, according to published reviews |
| Thunderbit | recurring complaints about free-trial billing, according to published reviews |
| BSTD | company less than one year old, no independent customer reviews found |
| MuleRun | beta product, not enough independent feedback — review planned |
| WaveSpeedAI | Too few reviews to judge — reassessment planned |
Three other verified and selected brands (Plaud, Base44, and a mini-PC manufacturer for local AI) will join this page when their partner programs are active. Excluded brands are reviewed periodically—a young product can mature.
Our evaluation framework
An online service is justified only in three cases: the model you want exceeds your hardware (measure it with the configurator), the feature doesn't exist in open source, or the volume would make your machine unavailable for too long. In all other cases, a free local LLM will do the job — that's the purpose of the 240 guides from this site. The cost calculator gives you the balance point between local and API use for your workload.
Transparency. The purchase links on these pages are affiliate links (Impact.com platform): if you subscribe, QuelLLM.fr receives a commission paid by the brand, at no extra cost to you. It does not influence the selection, ratings, or presentation order. No brand reviews these pages before publication. Legal notices.
